Pilates Classes At Underground Gym Newhaven
Shona was trained by Paul Anthony McLinden, a leading figure in the industry for 30 years. She continues to constantly update her learning, inspiration and teaching by attending master classes, training sessions and workshops with some of the best Pilates teachers in the world, including Brett Howard, Alan Herdman, Alicia Ungaro, Rael Isacowitz, Benjamin Degenhardt and Niedra Gabriel.
Shona endeavours to pass on this inspiration to her own students via her teaching.
What Is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of STRETCHING with STRENGTH and CONTROL. Control your body and learn to use the little muscle groups that allow you to be mobile, flexible and stable in sports such as swimming, lifting, running, golf... Whatever your sport, Pilates will improve it.
Stretch your muscles, tendons and ligaments to enhance mobility. It's a system of total body conditioning that prepares people for functional fitness... it improves postural problems, strengthens and stabilises the core, helps prevent injury as you get older and heightens body awareness.
If you practice Classical Pilates regularly, your spine will strengthen; you will become stronger more flexible and more toned.
Pilates is for everyone.
When and Where?
Pilates classes with Shona are on Wednesdays at 7.30pm at Underground Gym Newhaven, for an hour long session in our new studio. We provide all the kit you need or you can bring your own.
